The Story of Captain Fred “All aboard!” Named after the legendary pilot of the Yellow Submarine, Captain Fred is the most vibrant vessel in the Steiner Audio fleet. We took a classic Sears Silvertone cabinet and gave it a “Sea of Green” transformation. The body is finished in a custom bright yellow, contrasted by dark-stained poly on the wood accents, creating a high-energy, mid-century modern statement piece.

A New Mission for a Classic Vessel The Silvertone was once the heartbeat of the American home. We’ve honored that legacy by completely gutting the original 1960s internals and installing a “future-proof” audio suite. Whether you’re listening to the Fab Four or modern high-res masters, Captain Fred delivers a sound as bold as its finish.
